The Quotebook Story
My wife and I are high school sweethearts — the kind that used to pass notes everyday. She has this amazing way of folding notes into little squares, like presents. We’ve kept these notes over our 20+ years together, to remember how we always make each other smile.The Quotebook was born on January 22, 2006 as a way for us to continue bringing each other smiles. We started by writing down all the comments we would say to each other by ourselves that truly made us laugh. We've kept a quote book ever since.We've even given this concept as a gift to couples and expectant parents - always with a little note about how we use the notebook. Since this act has brought smiles to the people on the receiving end, we decided to build it into a product so others could get the same joy it has brought to us.— Mike Gardon
Who Are We Making Quotebook For?
We built our first Quotebook in 2006, but we didn’t know it. My wife and I just wanted to capture all of the funny things we said to each other in our relationship. We’ve kept it all these years, and since adding three young boys to the mix, Quotebook has taken on a life of it’s own. We wanted other families to experience the joy laughter and silliness that we get from the Quotebook.For Couples: My wife and I write down all the stuff that we say to make each other laugh.**For Families: **Our kids say the darndest things! Our 4-year-old is the most quoted person in the book!For Friends: Have a college student on a new adventure making new friends? College kids use Quotebook to capture a keepsake snapshot of all the hilarity that doesn't make Instagram.For Nanas and their grandkids: Give the gift of laughter, and help grandparents capture amazing memories.
Since those early days when it was just the two us, we have added three young boys to our family.The boys have amplified the power of the Quotebook.Today, our youngest (4) is naturally the most quoted person in our family.
His first entry was at age 21 months about his, ahem, appendage.Now, two of our family’s favorite activities are saying “That has to go in the quotebook!” and reading from the Quotebook before bed. We smile and laugh every time.
